On 24 May Sr. Daisy Andrade was installed as the fourth Provincial Superior of Delhi Province by Sr. Dina Vellamaruthunkal, Superior General during the Eucharistic celebration at the SMI Provincial House, Delhi. 31 January 2018: SMI with His Eminence Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, SDB at Alaknanda, Delhi 
On 31 January 2018, feast of Don Bosco, SMI joined the Salesians at Alaknanda for the celebration. His Eminence Cardinal Charles Maung Bo, SDB from Myanmar graced the occasion. Cardinal Bo interacted with the Salesian Family for an hour. Fr. K. A. Joseph, the then Provincial of Kolkata recounted the struggles the Salesians in Myanmar had to undergo those days. Cardinal Bo was one of those courageous youngsters who opted to stay with Don Bosco rather than return home. And today Salesians and Church in general in Burma have grown and we are proud to have a Cardinal from among them. |
10 January 2018 – Golden Jubilee Celebration of Religious Profession of Sr. Benedicta Mascarenhas and Sr. Floris Kuttianal 
Golden Jubilee celebration of the religious profession of Sr. Floris Kuttianal and Sr. Benedicta Mascarenhas was celebrated at Holy Roasary Church. Fr. Christopher G P, parish priest of Rosary Parish presided over the Eucharist, twenty priests concelebrating with him. Felicitation of the jubilarians and dinner was served in the auditorium of the school. |
12 December 2017, Seventieth Foundation Day of the SMI 
12 December 2017 was a special milestone in the life of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate. The congregation was founded on 12 December 1948 by Bishop Louis LaRavoire Morrow; on Tuesday, 12 December 2017, the SMI celebrated the 70TH FOUNDATION DAY.
On that memorable day 13 novices who underwent formation for around five to seven years became members of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate by making vows to live a poor, chaste and obedient life as stipulated by the Constitutions of the congregation. Congratulations dear Sisters, may you find fulfillment in your life of dedication. |
8 December 2017: Final Profession of Vows 
On 08 December 2017, the titular feast of the congregation, seventeen junior sisters committed themselves for life as Sisters of Mary Immaculate, by making Final Profession of Vows. |
October 3, 2017: Newly elected superior general and team 
During the ninth general chapter of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate Sr. Dina Vellamaruthunkal was elected as the 7th superior general of the congregation. Sr. Jane Nadackal, Sr. Jaisy Varickamthotty, Sr. Divya Lakra, Sr. Margaret Ranjitham and Sr. Malabika Mondol were elected as general councilors. October 1 - 12, 2017: Celebration of the Ninth General Chapter 
The ninth general chapter of the Sisters of Mary Immaculate was celebrated at the Mother House and Generalate of the congregation from October 1 to 12, 2017. 51 capitulars took part in the Chapter. |

27 August 2017: Fr. Santiago is presented with a copy of Our Catholic Faith by SMI Model Town 
Our Catholic Faith is one of the catechetical books written by Bishop Louis LaRavoire Morrow, founder of the SMI. It contains complete catechetical instruction for adults and is hailed as the masterpiece of the author. This book is well appreciated and used in many seminaries and formation houses. On 6 August 2017 the Spanish edition of the book NUESTRA FE CATALICA was released at the SMI Mother House at Krishnagar. Kiswahili edition is getting ready. |
26 to 28 August 2017: Mega event of the Little Flower League Day Celebration 
Participants of the Little Flower League Day celebration, a mega event, at Tagore Hill, Ranchi, from 26 to 28 August 2017 are seen in the picture. Sr. Jaisy Varickamthotty, general councillor for pastoral ministry was the chief guest. Sr. Ruthann Duraiswamy accompanied the chief guest from Krishnagar, headquarters of the SMI. Ten units with 50 children representing, participated in the mega event with their animators. |

Sixth Provincial Chapter of Delhi Province: 1-4 May 2017
The celebration of the Sixth Provincial Chapter of Delhi Province at Carmel Spirituality Centre, Kokar, Ranchi from 1-4 May 2017 was a historical event and an important milestone in the history of the young province. Thirty-three capitulars and two junior auditors comprised of the Chapter Body. Sr. Daisy Andrade, General Councillor was present during the Chapter as delegate of Sr. Lisette Thuruthimattam, Superior General. Sr. Regis Savarimuthu, Provincial Superior of Delhi Province was the President and Sr. Alice Abraham Athickal was the Moderator. Spiritual preparation for the great event consisted of a six day spiritual retreat from 23 to 29 April by Sr. Inigo Joaquim SSA and a day of orientation by Sr. Regis, Provincial Superior on 30 April. Day began on May 1, 2017 with the celebration of the Holy Mass to the Holy Spirit. After the adoration of the Blessed Sacrament the Capitulars entered the Chapter Hall with lighted lamps singing a hymn to the Holy Spirit. |

Group Discussion 
The four commissions worked to finalize the Chapter Document and the final document was ready on 4 May. After approval of the document all the Capitulars signed the same. Sr. Regis Savarimuthu declared the Sixth Provincial Chapter of Delhi Province closed at 6:00 pm on 4 May 2017. |

Sr. Lisette visited His Excellency Archbishop Giambattista Diquattro, Nuncio to India and Nepal at the Vatican Embassy on Thursday 9 March 2017 with Sr. Daisy Andrade, Sr. Regis Savarimuthu, provincial superior and Sr. Alice Abraham, provincial councillor. Sr. Lisette presented a copy of Our Catholic Faith to the Nuncio in the name of the SMI and Sr. Regis honoured him with a shawl. |
8 March 2017: Felicitating the Jubilarians
Sr. Lisette, the Golden Jubilarian of the year was felicitated at the Provincial House. Thanksgiving Mass was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Fr. Joseph Kezhakekkara SDB and Fr. Christopher G.P., parish priest of Rosary Church, on 8 March for Sr. Lisette. Sr. Floris Kuttianal, the golden jubilarian of Delhi Province and Sr. Sushma Lakra, silver jubilarian were also felicitated on the occasion. |
6 March 2017: Laying the foundation stone by Sr. Lisette at Najafgarh for our house.
At 11:00 a.m. Fr. Isidore Minj SDB, parish priest of Najafgarh blessed the foundation stone for the residence of the SMI at Najafgarh and Sr. Lisette laid the stone in the presence of Sr. Daisy Andrade, general councillor and economer, Sr. Regis Savarimuthu, provincial superior, Sr. Alice Abraham and Sr. Urmila Kujur, provincial councillors, Sr. Metty Zachariah, local superior, and Sr. Christina Koikakudy, Sr. Kiran Kispotta and Sr. Nirmala Xalxo, members of Najafgarh community. |

21 February 2017: Felicitation of Diamond and Golden Jubilarians of 2017 at the Mother House, Krishnagar.
On 21 February 2017 Diamond and Golden Jubilee of the religious profession of sisters was celebrated at the Mother House, Krishnagar: six Diamond Jubilarians and seventeen Golden Jubilarians were the centre of attention. Three Diamond and one Golden Jubilarian was not able to join the celebration. The celebration was unique as Sr. Lisette Thuruthimattam, Superior General of the congregation was one of the Golden Jubilarians. Jubilarians are seen with Bishop Thomas Thuruthimattam (Brother of Sr. Lisette), Bishop Joseph Gomes and the concelebrant priests of the Holy Eucharist. |

CRWI Plenary Assembly 19-22 January 2017, Goa
Sr. Lisette Thuruthimattam, Superior General of the SMI attended the 48th Plenary Assembly of the Women Religious of India in Goa from 19th to 22nd January 2017 with Sr. Jancy Francis, Sr. Regis Savarimuthu, Sr. Gracy George and Sr. Malabika Mondal. Sr. Regis is the national treasurer of CRWI.

Christmas get-together of the religious communities of Rosary Parish, 3 January 2017
On 3 January the four religious communities of sisters had their Christmas gathering in the parish with the parish community. Mgr. Susai Sebastian, Vicar General of Delhi archdiocese was the chief guest. After the evening prayers Fr. Francis Vialo and Br. Swamy Nathan conducted many interesting games. Lot of fun and frolic made the day! Each community prepared food items for the meal and all enjoyed the agape and the togetherness. Congratulations and thanks to Fr. Christopher G P, parish priest, for providing this opportunity. |

On 12 December 1948, Late Bishop Louis LaRavoire Morrow founded the congregation of Sisters of Mary Immaculate. |

8-12-2016, Captainganj Golden Jubilee celebration of the religious profession of Sr Hyacinth Kadavil, 8 December 2016. She made her first profession of vows on 01-01-1966 and has completed 50 years as a religious Sister. About her initial formation she says, "I recall the happiest days were days I spent as a candidate. I received a lot of love from my elder sisters, teaching me to love Jesus." |

Annual Meet of local superiors was held on 8 and 9 October at Jeevan Jyoti Ashram, Burari. The second retreat of Delhi Province from 10-15 October was directed by Sr. Stancy Veetickamalayil SMI. Venue was Jeevan Jyoti Ashram, Burari. Participants were Local Animators and Junior Sisters of the province, numbering 40. |

5-10-2016, Annual Meet of Junior Sisters of Delhi Province 13 junior sisters from Delhi Province had their annual gathering from 5-9 October. Resource persons were: Sr. Regis Savarimuthu, provincial superior, Sr. Anila Punneliparambil, junior mistress, Fr. Antony Valan SJ and Sr. Stancy Veetickmalayil. The meeting was held for two days at the provincial house and from 7-9 at Jeevan Jyoti Ashram, Burari. |
